THE GOSPEL

What It's All About

So, what’s life all about you ask? That is a loaded question, but let us give a simple overview. It all started by God loving us so much that He created this universe and world for us to live in. He made it all perfect just for us.
God's Word says in Genesis 1:1

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.”

But Adam and Eve, the first man and woman, broke fellowship with our loving God when they sinned in the Garden of Eden, plunging humanity and creation into darkness and sin.
God's Word says in Romans 3:23, 5:12

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”

Not one of us is perfect; all of us have been tainted by sin which shows itself in all kinds of selfish ways.

What Does it Mean to be Separated from God?

The unfortunate truth is that the majority of human beings are separated from God, living independently from His love and His Word. We still choose to disobey God and go our own willful way. This sin nature that we possess will one day result in physical death, and then eternal separation from God in a place called Hell, which was originally meant for Satan and his angels.
God's Word says in Romans 6:23

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Yes, sin and death are not popular topics today, but this is the reality that we all live in. But did you notice the last part of that verse from God’s Word? There is good news! God Loves you and has provided a way for you to be forgiven of your sin and have eternal life with Him.
God's Word says in Romans 5:8

“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Life is really all about this great story of God rescuing mankind whom He loves dearly. God loves you and I so much that He sent His only Son Jesus to be born of a virgin, live a perfect life on earth, and then go to the cross to take on the punishment of death for our sin. You see, God knew we could never work our way to heaven because of our sin, and so He provided us with the only way we could go. You’ve probably heard this next verse.
God's Word says in John 3:16

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

But Jesus didn’t just die, He rose up alive from the grave on the third day, conquering death and proving that He really is God and that His sacrifice for sin was completely satisfactory – nothing needs to be added to it!

What Should Our Response Be?

God's Word says in Acts 16:31, Romans 10:9

“Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved.”

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
Salvation is as simple as understanding these truths, agreeing with them, and then choosing to depend on them, which is what Biblical faith is. Faith is trusting God to do for you what you could never do for yourself. You must understand and agree with the fact that you’re a sinner separated from God, that there is a penalty for that sin, and then you must put your faith in Christ alone who died for you and rose again.

Prayer is not flowery language, it’s simply speaking to God. He created the universe, and He is with you right now, waiting to hear from you. Talk to Him today. Confess your sinfulness and helplessness, and ask Him to forgive you. Then look to Jesus in faith and you will receive His eternal life. That new life can start today, not only giving you hope for eternity, but hope for this crazy world right now.

Yes, it’s all about Jesus! For eternity and for life right now!

God's Word says in 2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore, if any man be in Christ he is a new creature; old things are passed away, behold, all things are become new.”
